The Views Joy Behar resurfaces in sweatpants and slippers after taking time off from talk show fo

JOY Behar has surfaced in a new photo after missing a week of The View to recover from a health issue.

The View co-host was absent from the talk show earlier this month after coming down with Covid-19.

On Monday, Joy, 81, was spotted for the first time since getting sick, celebrating Christmas with another TV notable.

Former CNN host Don Lemon, 57, posted a snap on Instagram of him posing with Joy and other friends at home in front of a Christmas tree.

Joy appeared in good spirits as she smiled at the camera, donning sweatpants, a loosely fitted top, and slippers for the gathering.

"'Comfort and Joy,'" Don captioned the post.

Fans were happy to see Joy on the mend as they hadn't seen her on the show in some time.

WHERE'S JOY?

Viewers first noticed Joy missing on Monday, December 11, but her absence didn't spark alarm as she is typically off on Mondays.

However, she didn't return on Tuesday, and moderator Whoopi Goldberg, 68, revealed the reason.

"Joy is out this week. You know why? She finally got Covid," the actress announced at the start of the broadcast.

The audience reacted with a round of booing at the news.

"Yup, three years, four years in, it finally got her," Whoopi said.

Their co-host, Sara Haines, 46, then joked that Joy “can stop bragging now” about having yet to come down with the disease.

Whoopi then revealed the comedian's replacement for the week was The Community actress Yvette Nicole Brown, 52.

FANS' FURY

The View aired its holiday episode on Friday, December 15, and the hosts have since been on a break from the show.

Re-runs have replaced their typically live episodes, which will return in January 2024.

Fans were furious that the show was taking such a long hiatus and expressed their dismay on social media.

"Yep just another week off. Like they just came off a long vacation they get way to much time off for what they make. So they will be gone till when Jan 2 now must be nice," one fan wrote on an online thread.

"I agree. They take a lot of time off haha," replied another user.

"I wish they would come up with a different way to fill the hour rather than reruns. Watching them discuss old news has me immediately switching channels. Maybe just put together clips of guests for the show instead of showing the hot topics section?" someone else suggested.

"I wish they would re-run the older shows, not from this season, but back in the first few seasons before they became the majority hot topics," another said.

The show's daily podcast, The View: Behind the Table, hosted by executive producer Brian Teta, has also taken a break from releasing new episodes until the New Year.
