The Voice 2023 LIVE Niall Horan slammed for 'big mistake' as Nini Iris and Alexa Wildish's fates

NIALL Horan had to make a huge cut to his team on The Voice last night - and fans are slamming his "big mistake."
Niall decided to bring Huntley, Mara Justine, and Nini Iris to the next round of the competition, meaning that Alexa Wildish, Claudia B., and Super Save artist Julia Roome were eliminated.
Viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to slam the choice.
"BIG MISTAKE not choosing Alexa," one fan wrote, adding, "She could have won for you. Huntley is good, but those two girls are screechers with nothing special about them. Alexa is an artist."
Another shared: "2 of the people Niall picked are the worst members of his team. I don't know what he's thinking."
"Niall is either an idiot, or somebody told him who he had to pick!! What a JOKE," one furious viewer wrote.
Playoffs continue on The Voice Monday at 8 pm ET on NBC. Fans can also catch new episodes on Peacock, Fubo, Sling TV, and Hulu Live TV.

Inside contract for The Voice
A 32-page contestant contract was released to the Daily News in 2014.
It was revealed that to participate in the competition, contestants had to agree to a long list of conditions, including having their psychological and physical health evaluated on camera.
The contract reportedly also permitted The Voice to alter the contest’s guidelines whenever it pleased and to omit competitors for any reason, even if those candidates got a majority of votes.
“Producer and the network … shall have the right at any and all times … to remove or replace me as a participant in the series, for any reason whatsoever, in their sole discretion,” the contract reportedly read.

Cosmopolitan spoke with Frenchie Davis, a semi-finalist from season one of The Voice, who shared that the coaches and judges at times choose the songs that contestants perform.

This was confirmed by The Voice executive producer Audrey Morrissey, who added that as contestants advance to the Battle Rounds, song selection frequently becomes a contentious issue for coaches and contestants.
“The No. 1 communication is about song choice,” Morrissey told She Knows.

Recap episode left fans feeling 'tricked'
Some fans felt "tricked" during Monday's recap episode as they expected the Playoffs premiere to begin a day earlier.
One fan raged on Monday night: "NBC is seriously punking us with all these recaps. They really don't want viewers to vote for their choices before they cut people to steamroll the finale."
"Can we just get to the singers please? I really do not like all this recap stuff they're shoving in these episodes," another shared.
A critic added on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter: "Why is tonight The Voice show episode a repeat and not a new show tonight?"
Fans got 'goosebumps' during coaches' performance
Coaches Gwen Stefani, John Legend, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire sang the classic hit Take It Easy by the Eagles at the start of the season - and fans loved going behind the scenes of the performance during Monday's recap episode.
Gwen turned heads with her voice as fans were quick to take it to online threads and the comments section to react.
"Oh my God, Gwen! That was incredible girl. Your low voice gave me goosebumps, and I'm simply in love," one fan gushed.
Another added: "Gwen sounds pretty darn good here," while a third commented, "She looks and sounds better now than she did 30 years ago."
Coaches sometimes pick contestants' songs
Cosmopolitan spoke with Frenchie Davis, a semi-finalist from season one of The Voice, who shared that the coaches and judges at times do choose the songs that artists perform.
“It’s always hysterical when the judges say, ‘I don’t think that was a good song choice for you,’ and I’m thinking, ‘You picked that song!’” Davis said.
The Voice executive producer Audrey Morrissey confirmed this and added that as contestants advance to the Battle Rounds, song selection frequently becomes a contentious issue for coaches and contestants.
“The No. 1 communication is about song choice,” Morrissey told She Knows.
The contestants got to choose their own songs during the knockouts, but coaches are now picking the songs for Playoffs.

Reba spoke of her and Linn’s romance during an appearance on The Today Show on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
She said on the program: “Rex and I had known each other since 1991 when we were in The Gambler movie together with Kenny Rogers, and then have known each other, kept in contact.
“And then in 2020 when mama got sick, he called me. We’d gotten to see each other before because we’re both on Young Sheldon.
“So starting in March of 2020, we just kept talking and visiting and finally got together in June. We’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since.”

Coaches encourage singers to audition again
If you have auditioned for The Voice before and haven’t gotten a yes, don’t be discouraged – your chance might be right around the corner.
